EMITRON has helped to make life better for the citizens of Krugersdorp by introducing traffic lights that use less power, by implementing energy efficient LED technology. This system also has backup power to prevent traffic congestion during power failures.
These traffic lights can be found around most of the major intersections of MogaleCity. MogaleCity municipality was the first to implement the system that does not require solar panels.
Recently added to the energy efficient traffic light is a built in management system to notify the responsible personnel when maintenance is necessary, power failures occur or when unwanted entry into the system is detected. This has reduces the theft and breakdown of Traffic light controllers.
